Resin Heart Earrings

My name is Arwen Sachinwalla and I am a design student from UTS, today I had the privilege of experiencing the process in which Robert Clerc creates his vibrant resin pieces. I was able to watch the process from start to finish and see exactly what goes into creating one of the gorgeous pieces.

I took part in the making of the rubber mould and the pouring of the resin mixture. I also had a chance to try out the sanding process on a small heart. The satisfaction of the finished product was incredible. The colour and shine of the resign is stunning.
One of my favourite parts of the process was the colour mixing. You can never be sure of what colour will appear in the end as it can change whilst the piece sets. I love how unique this makes each piece as it is incredibly hard to completely match the colour in a new batch of resin.
I also had the opportunity to try on a number of different pieces and help decide which shapes looked best. I am definitely falling in love with these gorgeous pieces, the colours and shapes are so vibrant and simple and fall perfectly when worn.
